Chi Nim Hui answers some questions about his journey as an ACA Trainee

What made you start a career in accountancy?

I always enjoyed Mathematics back in school which led me to study a Finance degree in University. I was offered a placement year with Larking Gowen as part of my university course and I’ve really enjoyed the process and support I received. This helped me to decide that Larking Gowen is the company I’d like to work for and I know I’ll be well supported here through my progression to becoming an accountant!

What’s something you didn’t expect?

I did not expect Larking Gowen to provide so much support for physical and mental health. There are always events going on and reminders for us to take care of ourselves while working through difficult tasks. I cannot describe how much our colleagues care for each other!

What are your career goals?

I’m currently working towards my ICAEW ACA qualification and would like to be a qualified chartered accountant.
