This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and ambitious individual who has recently completed their A Levels (or equivalent) and is looking to take their first step into a professional career.
As an Intern within our Business South Team you can work as part of our Colchester, Ipswich or Diss teams. You'll gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced accountants and business advisers, supporting a wide range of clients and developing practical skills in accounting, finance and client service.
For the right candidate, this role would be initially for up to 9 months on a fixed term contract with the potential pathway to be offer a trainee position on our apprenticeship programme, studying towards the AAT Level 3 and AAT Level 4 qualifications.
Responsibilities
As part of the Business South Team, you'll be involved in a variety of tasks including:
- Supporting the preparation of accounts and financial information.
- Assisting with bookkeeping and cloud accounting software.
- Helping to prepare VAT returns and other client work.
- Maintaining accurate records and client documentation.
- Providing administrative support to the team.
- Building professional relationships with colleagues and clients.
- Learning about accounting processes and business advisory services.

Requirements
- Has completed A Levels (or equivalent qualifications).
- Has achieved GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above, or equivalent).
- Is enthusiastic about starting a career in accountancy and professional services.
- Has excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Is confident communicating with a range of people.
- Is keen to learn and develop new skills.
- Can manage their workload and meet deadlines.
- Is comfortable using Microsoft Office and technology.
